Board Minutes – 5/3/21

Meeting started @ 8:00
· Opening Day – Was very successful and seemed to go smoothly, even with smaller crowds due to COVID. Bleachers being open has been helpful.
o Fundraising was very successful throughout the day with Ms. DeAlfi selling most of the entire day
o Concession Stand did much better this year than previous years due to Lions not being there.
o Venmo has been another option for folks to pay along with Square which as been helpful. Question was whether we should have Venmo be an option for the concession stand. Board decided to test out Venmo as an option for concession stand purchase.
· One class in South Street was put in quarantine a day before opening day. Policy is a 14-day quarantine if players do not take a PCR test. Players can return on day 10 if they complete a PCR test on day 8 or later and it returns negative.
· All Stars
o Decision needs to be made by June 1 as to how many teams WLLL will be fielding. Currently there is interest in fielding a AAA all-star team. Majors is still unclear if they will be fielding a team. The board will revisit Majors all-stars at the end of the month. Mr. Oney will not be involved in the selection of the AAA team. Any board member that would like to be include selecting the team should email Mr. Oney.
· COVID guidelines. WLLL will continue to follow sports guidelines. Even if the rest of the state is under different regulations, the league will adhere to the sports guidance from the state.
· Email from concerned parent was sent to the league that Majors was not following the correct rules regarding playing time. Mr. Oney has confirmed with the district and other leagues that the coaches are doing things correctly and all according to Little League rules. Majors had discussed playing time with the parents and players both before and during the season to go over playing time and had been agreed upon.
· Dairy Cream Night will be set up for an upcoming night at Dairy Cream. Night was supposed to be on 5/7, however another school already has that night booked.
· Juniors will be playing at Dunkin Donuts park on 5/25 @ 6:30 pm.
